Coffee Drinks you must know || Types of coffee drinks

Have you ever been confused with different coffee drinks? I think most of us do! Don’t worry it’s completely natural, we are here to help you out with different coffee drinks you need to know. So let’s get started…

1. AMERICANO (ESPRESSO AMERICANO)

An americano is nothing but hot water poured in espresso shot. It is one of the easiest recipes I have heard. It is said to be invented in Italy. Anyways let’s take a look at the recipe:

Ingredients:

  • Coffee for espresso shot
  • Water as needed

Instructions:

  • For espresso shot you basically need coffee beans but as most of the people aren’t able to buy them we will use coffee powder her. Now in a small glass add some coffee powder . Now add water to have a running consistency. Shot is ready!
  • In a sauce pan add water and bring it to a boil.
  • In your coffee mug add espresso shot and boiled water in it, just stir it and your coffee is ready!



2. Caffè mocha

As the name suggests caffe mocha is a chocolaty version of coffee. It’s just like a normal coffee but with added chocolate in it which makes it more scrumptious! It is often said that this coffee got it’s existence in 16th century when someone started mixing expresso with layers of chocolate and cream on it. It’s a  layer system that actually works. Chocolate sauce , Milk , expresso , and cream are the secret ingredients.

Recipe:

Ingredients Needed:

  • Coffee
  • Chocolate sauce
  • whipped cream
  • hot milk



Instructions:

  • Heat milk in a sauce pan, it should be frothy. Let it cool down until semi hot.
  • Pour the chocolate sauce in the coffee mug and then add milk in it.
  • Now, add expresso and garnish it with whipped cream.

 

3. Affogato

Affogato is said to be invented in 1992 in Italy. This coffee takes care of your summer needs! I mean ice-cream! Summer are meant to be for icecreams! If you are an intense ice-cream lover then mind you this coffee is just for you! It’s nothing but expresso in a vanilla ice-cream and of-course some chocolate sprinkles as per your liking.

Recipe:

Ingredients Needed:



Expresso

Vanilla Ice-Cream

Chocolate Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions:

  • First, chill your coffee mug in which you want to have this coffee
  • Place two scoops of ice-cream in the mug.
  • Prepare hot espresso, we need to pour it on ice-cream
  • You can garnish this with some chocolate sprinkles if you want.  It’s completely optional!

It come’s out so amazing that it replaces my desert every time!

4. Turkish coffee

Of-course as the name suggests, this coffee got it’s existence from turkey. It’s a coffee made without milk or cream. Sugar is added in making of the coffee .Throughout the recipe ibrik is used. If you don’t know what ibrik is then let me tell you it’s a special pot used to make coffee. Of-course if you don’t have one you can surely use a sauce pan!



Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • Finely ground coffee
  • water
  • sauce pan or ibrik if you have

Instructions:

  • In a sauce pan/ibrik add water, let it boil
  • Add grounded coffee in water and bring it to boil.
  • Add sugar as desired again bring this to a boil.
  • Cool it down a bit and then again boil it.
  • This will make it a little frothier and stronger.



5. Frappé coffee

In “desi bhasha” frappe coffee is somewhat like cold coffee. It is said to be invented in 1957. Who doesn’t like cold coffee?! It’s cool and refreshing and made in every second house.But there’s a little twist here, instead of coffee powder we’ll use espresso here. As you all know main ingredients are milk, espresso, ice and some sugar according to taste. Let’s take a look on the recipe:

Ingredients Needed:

  • Milk
  • Espresso
  • Sugar

Equipments: Blending Jar

Instructions:

  • First of all, you need to prepare espresso and cool it down to room temperature.
  • Now that you have prepared the espresso, take a blending jar and pour milk and espresso in it.
  • Add sugar according to your taste.
  • Now blend, blend and just blend until frothy.

 

6. Latte

Latte is invented in 1950. It’s a combination of just three ingredients. These are espresso, hot milk and milk foam. It’s fairly an easy recipe. It just replicates with the basic hot coffee in every single house. (This is my personal recipe). You are not required to do much just look at the recipe below:

Ingredients:

  • Milk
  • Espresso
  • Coco Powder (optional)

Instructions:

  • In a sauce pan add milk in it and bring it to a boil .
  • You need to prepare espresso as well.
  • In a coffee mug add espresso and hot milk in it
  • For foam,take milk and whisk it with hand blender until frothy.
  • Top your coffee with prepared foam, you can garnish this with coco powder.



7. Cold Brew Coffee/Iced Coffee

In very simple words it’s just same as ice-tea! Instead of tea there’s coffee here. This one cup of icy coffee soothes you so much in summer. It’s definitely a must try. Remember those days when you feel exhausted and lazy at the same time and you get to drink this! It’ll be a self made day. Recipe is as simple as it seems to be. Let’s take a look at the recipe:

Ingredients:

  • Coffee Powder
  • Water
  • Ice




Instructions:

  • In a Mason Jar add coffee powder .
  • Now add water in it and let it cool for atleast an hour.
  • Serve it chilled with ice.

8. Cappuccino

Cappuccino is an Italian based coffee. It’s like a latte but with double espresso and high amount of foam. Again the main ingredients are hot milk, espresso and milk foam. Let’s take a look at the recipe:

Ingredients:

  • Milk
  • Double shot Espresso
  • Coco Powder (optional)
  • Cinnamon




Instructions:

  • In a sauce pan add milk in it and bring it to a boil .
  • You need to prepare double shot of  espresso as well .
  • In a coffee mug add espresso and hot milk in it, sprinkle some cinnamon powder thereafter.
  • For foam,take milk and whisk it with hand blender until frothy.
  • Top your coffee with prepared foam, you can garnish this with coco powder.

9. Cortado

This coffee is much popular in spain and portugal. It is said to be originated in San Francisco, California. Again hot milk and espresso are key ingredients. It’s just that there’s equal amount of espresso and milk.  Let’s take a look at the recipe:



Ingredients:

  • Milk
  • Espresso

Instructions:

  • In a sauce pan add milk in it and bring it to a boil .
  • You need to prepare  equal amount of  espresso according to milk as well .
  • In a coffee mug add espresso and hot milk in it.
  • I personally like to add  coco powder, it’s completely your choice!
